we have no way of knowing what’s going through taylortot’s head nor do we know what was going on in her head when she made those drawings because she hasn’t told us. what we know is that the art is EERILY SIMILAR to other people’s art, and the fact that y’all have been throwing your support in blindly behind one party just because — what? you want her attention? her friendship? you think this will endear you to her? i literally can’t think of a different reason besides, like, blind faith, but there is, as it stands now, no reason for blind faith

Taylortots is not plagiarizing anyone. Are there similarities between her art and others? Yes. But that’s the same in everything. There is no such thing as true originality; not in this world. Everything has been done before. Everyone has at least thought of hospital kisses or silly young!royai.Taylor is a great artist trying to grow her skills, and now she’s getting a bunch of hate for no real reason. Yes, some pieces are similar to other artists work, but that doesn’t mean she’s copying- it’s called having similar ideas/headcanons. It happens. And if she is inspired by another piece, that’s okay; she does, believe it or not, give credit where credit is due, but having similar ideas/color pallets doesn’t mean it’s plagiarism. Chill out.

That’s it. That’s my rant. Just chill, royai fandom, and let us get back to crying over the perfection. And leave Taylor darling alone, or at least have a better argument than ‘they look the same’.

I am a character design artist. It’s not unique, but pray tell, if that is not only an uncanny resemblance, the palette of her design itself was at least inspired by my initial take on it, and forgive me (or anyone else) for wanting a little credit for at least that.
